{"id":321,"date":"2024-07-01T17:04:31","date_gmt":"2024-07-01T17:04:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/yomocprojects.com\/?post_type=infrastructure&#038;p=321"},"modified":"2025-08-12T12:30:04","modified_gmt":"2025-08-12T12:30:04","slug":"electron-microscopy","status":"publish","type":"infrastructure","link":"https:\/\/gimm.pt\/pt-pt\/infrastructure\/electron-microscopy\/","title":{"rendered":"Electron Microscopy"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Electron Microscopy Facility (EMF) is a research platform focused on biological sample processing and imaging for electron microscopy.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The facility provides:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 Electron microscopy services for research, diagnosis and industrial applications&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 Tailored methods including optimization and development fitted to research questions&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 Technical training for users, students and staff&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 Access to specialized equipment&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moreover, our platform works in an open and collaborative way with other facilities enabling the implementation of multidisciplinary projects that boosts the scientific knowledge that could be extracted from a single sample, e.g. Correlative Light-Electron Microscopy (CLEM) methodologies with the collaboration of Light Microscopy and Histopathology platforms. A price list is available upon request and a quote with an estimation of cost will be given after the experimental set-up has been agreed.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 The facility is open to work with internal and external researchers and with industrial users. Equipment is available for booking 7 days in advance via online booking system (Agendo) for trained researchers during facility operation hours (Monday to Friday \u2013 from 09:30 to 17:30). An extended period of usage may be possible with at least 72 hours\u2019 notice to facility staff.<\/p>\n<p>Training in each system is mandatory for independent usage, even for researchers with previous experience. Cancellations or modifications to bookings are allowed 24 hours before the reserved booking time. Users that do not show will be charged fully for their booking time.<\/p>\n<p>Each piece of equipment has a logbook that must be used to record the start and end time for each instrument session.
