{"id":11229,"date":"2026-03-31T16:12:28","date_gmt":"2026-03-31T16:12:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gimm.pt\/?post_type=jobs&#038;p=11229"},"modified":"2026-03-31T16:12:29","modified_gmt":"2026-03-31T16:12:29","slug":"expression-of-interest-sterilization-and-media-technician","status":"publish","type":"jobs","link":"https:\/\/gimm.pt\/pt-pt\/jobs\/expression-of-interest-sterilization-and-media-technician\/","title":{"rendered":"Expression of Interest &#8211; Sterilization and Media Technician"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Gulbenkian Institute for Molecular Medicine (GIMM) is seeking a Sterilization and Media<br>Technician to join Washing Room unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The main responsibilities include:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Collection of dirty materials and delivery\/restocking of clean materials;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Operation of washing machines, steam sterilizers (autoclaves), and sterilization\/drying<br>ovens;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reception, washing, sterilization, final preparation, and distribution of laboratory materials;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Preparation of sterile tubes, bottles, and tip boxes;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cleaning of equipment and facilities within the area;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Completion of records\/forms;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Preparation of culture media and other services provided by S&amp;M;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Preparation and management of user requests through the dedicated platform.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support in the training of new S&amp;M technicians and new users.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support in stock management of materials assigned to S&amp;M.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support in organizing S&amp;M tasks and services, and in resolving non\u2011conformities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Profile of Candidate<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Secondary education (12th grade) or technical\/higher education in the sciences or related<br>fields;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong attendance and punctuality;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proficiency in Portuguese, spoken and written;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proficiency in English, spoken and written;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proactivity and dynamism;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>High sense of responsibility;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong organizational skills, versatility, and attention to detail;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to work well in a team;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Good interpersonal and communication skills;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Computer literacy at a user level;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Previous experience in culture media and solution preparation or in a similar role.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Working Conditions:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Initial contract of 1 year, subject to the normal probation period;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Possibility of extension based on funding availability.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Please send a detailed motivation letter, explaining why this position is of interest and what<br>motivates you to be a Sterilization and Media Technician and your CV, detailing previous relevant<br>experience, throught the<strong> e\u2011mail positions@gimm.pt<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gimm.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Washing-Room-Edital-EN.pdf\">Download the Offer Letter<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/gimm.pt\/pt-pt\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/jobs\/11229"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/gimm.pt\/pt-pt\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/jobs"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/gimm.pt\/pt-pt\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/jobs"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/gimm.pt\/pt-pt\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=11229"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
