{"id":12439,"date":"2026-09-18T15:03:34","date_gmt":"2026-09-18T15:03:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gimm.pt\/?post_type=jobs&#038;p=12439"},"modified":"2026-09-18T15:03:35","modified_gmt":"2026-09-18T15:03:35","slug":"sterilization-and-media-specialist-technician-m-f","status":"publish","type":"jobs","link":"https:\/\/gimm.pt\/pt-pt\/jobs\/sterilization-and-media-specialist-technician-m-f\/","title":{"rendered":"Sterilization and Media Specialist Technician (M\/F)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><u>Reference GIMM-CT-36-2026<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Funda\u00e7\u00e3o GIMM \u2013 Gulbenkian Institute of Melecular Medicine<\/strong> is seeking a Sterilization and Media Specialist Technician to join its Safety &amp; Infrastructure team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Key Responsibilities:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare, sterilize, and make available solutions, culture media, plates, and other laboratory materials in accordance with established procedures;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collect, wash, process, sterilize, and distribute laboratory equipment and materials;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Operate washing machines, autoclaves, and other Central Washing Facility equipment, ensuring compliance with quality standards and biosafety requirements;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Organize, store, and distribute cleaned and sterilized materials, ensuring appropriate stock and consumables management;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use computer systems for record keeping, request management, and email communication;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support the daily activities of the Central Washing Facility and ensure operational continuity of the area in the absence of the Team Leader.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Candidate Profile:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Completed secondary education in Science and Technology, or vocational training in Laboratory Analysis, Laboratory Technology, Biotechnology, or related fields;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong sense of responsibility, accuracy, organization, and attention to detail;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proactive attitude, autonomy, and initiative;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Good computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, and Excel), and ability to quickly adapt to other software tools;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fluency in written and spoken Portuguese;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Good command of written and spoken English.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Preferred Qualifications<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Higher education degree in Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology, Biology, or a related scientific field;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience in the preparation of solutions, reagents, and culture media, ensuring compliance with sterility and quality requirements;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience in the safe operation of autoclaves and other laboratory equipment;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Knowledge of safety, hygiene, biosafety standards, and Good Laboratory Practices;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Previous professional experience in similar functions, preferably in a laboratory environment or culture media production setting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Employment Conditions<\/u><\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fixed-term employment contract for an initial period of one year, subject to the applicable probation period, with the possibility of renewal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please submit your application to <a href=\"mailto:positions@gimm.pt\">positions@gimm.pt<\/a>.
