Embora a fun\u00e7\u00e3o e a l\u00f3gica global destes processos sejam amplamente conservadas, mostram uma surpreendente variabilidade mecanicista na forma como s\u00e3o executados em diferentes esp\u00e9cies. O significado funcional destas diferen\u00e7as e os processos evolutivos que as promovem s\u00e3o ainda largamente desconhecidos.<\/p>\n\n<p>Recentemente, demonstr\u00e1mos como os mecanismos de manuten\u00e7\u00e3o do genoma s\u00e3o capazes de uma r\u00e1pida reconfigura\u00e7\u00e3o evolutiva quando perturbados, mostrando como a biologia celular evolutiva de processos essenciais pode ser estudada experimentalmente.<\/p>\n\n<p>No nosso laborat\u00f3rio, tiramos partido da <strong><em>S.cerevisiae <\/em><\/strong>como modelo de organismo eucari\u00f3tico e investigamos os mecanismos moleculares que permitem \u00e0s c\u00e9lulas adaptarem-se aos desafios da manuten\u00e7\u00e3o do genoma. Utilizamos uma <strong>abordagem multidisciplinar<\/strong> que tira partido de t\u00e9cnicas e conceitos que abrangem v\u00e1rias escalas biol\u00f3gicas: Da biologia molecular e celular \u00e0 gen\u00f3mica, biologia evolutiva e gen\u00e9tica
