{"id":10933,"date":"2026-03-13T11:52:13","date_gmt":"2026-03-13T11:52:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gimm.pt\/news\/projeto-do-laboratorio-de-ana-espada-de-sousa-distinguido-na-11-a-edicao-do-programa-gilead-genese\/"},"modified":"2026-03-13T12:01:26","modified_gmt":"2026-03-13T12:01:26","slug":"projeto-do-laboratorio-de-ana-espada-de-sousa-distinguido-na-11-a-edicao-do-programa-gilead-genese","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/gimm.pt\/pt-pt\/not\u00edcias\/projeto-do-laboratorio-de-ana-espada-de-sousa-distinguido-na-11-a-edicao-do-programa-gilead-genese\/","title":{"rendered":"Projeto do laborat\u00f3rio de Ana Espada de Sousa distinguido na 11.\u00aa edi\u00e7\u00e3o do Programa Gilead G\u00c9NESE"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>O projeto \u201cLi\u00e7\u00f5es do mapeamento de g\u00e2nglios linf\u00e1ticos de HIV-2 para o controlo de HIV-1\u201d, desenvolvido no laborat\u00f3rio de Ana Espada de Sousa no GIMM, foi distinguido na 11.\u00aa edi\u00e7\u00e3o do Programa Gilead G\u00c9NESE, uma iniciativa que reconhece projetos inovadores nas \u00e1reas da oncologia e da virologia.<\/p>\n\n<p>Nesta edi\u00e7\u00e3o candidataram-se 47 projetos nacionais, provenientes de institui\u00e7\u00f5es do Servi\u00e7o Nacional de Sa\u00fade, institui\u00e7\u00f5es acad\u00e9micas e cient\u00edficas e organiza\u00e7\u00f5es da sociedade civil. Foram selecionados 10 projetos, quatro de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o e seis de interven\u00e7\u00e3o comunit\u00e1ria, num financiamento global de 300 mil euros.<\/p>\n\n<p>Na \u00e1rea da virologia, a investiga\u00e7\u00e3o liderada pelo laborat\u00f3rio de Ana Espada de Sousa procura compreender melhor como o sistema imunit\u00e1rio responde ao VIH-2 nos g\u00e2nglios linf\u00e1ticos, locais fundamentais para a organiza\u00e7\u00e3o das respostas imunit\u00e1rias do organismo. A infe\u00e7\u00e3o por VIH-2 caracteriza-se frequentemente por um controlo natural mais eficaz do v\u00edrus quando comparado com o VIH-1.<\/p>\n\n<p>Atrav\u00e9s do estudo paralelo de bi\u00f3psias de g\u00e2nglios linf\u00e1ticos e de amostras de sangue, e recorrendo a abordagens multi\u00f3micas, a equipa pretende identificar os mecanismos que permitem este equil\u00edbrio entre o v\u00edrus e o hospedeiro. Estes resultados poder\u00e3o contribuir para aprofundar o conhecimento sobre o controlo natural da infe\u00e7\u00e3o por VIH-2 e apoiar o desenvolvimento de novas estrat\u00e9gias para o controlo ou cura funcional do VIH-1.<\/p>\n\n<p>Criado em 2013, o Programa Gilead G\u00c9NESE apoia projetos de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o e iniciativas comunit\u00e1rias nas \u00e1reas em que a Gilead desenvolve a sua atividade cient\u00edfica.
