O seu projeto aborda um desafio central em sa\u00fade p\u00fablica: perceber porque \u00e9 que a vacina\u00e7\u00e3o contra a gripe n\u00e3o confere o mesmo n\u00edvel de prote\u00e7\u00e3o a todas as pessoas. Focando-se numa coorte de indiv\u00edduos com mais de 70 anos, Ana ir\u00e1 utilizar tecnologias de c\u00e9lula \u00fanica para identificar quais as c\u00e9lulas do sistema imunit\u00e1rio que respondem \u00e0 vacina e compreender as diferen\u00e7as que est\u00e3o na base de respostas imunit\u00e1rias vari\u00e1veis.<\/p>\n\n<p>Rafael Blanco Dom\u00ednguez, do laborat\u00f3rio Ribot and Silva-Santos, recebeu a 2026 EACR\u2013Mark Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship. Este contrato de tr\u00eas anos apoiar\u00e1 o desenvolvimento do projeto <em>\u201cDecoding Delta One T Cell adaptation and regulation in colorectal cancer for improved immunotherapy\u201d<\/em>, aprofundando o conhecimento sobre mecanismos imunit\u00e1rios com potencial impacto cl\u00ednico no tratamento do cancro.<\/p>\n\n<p>Mois\u00e9s Mallo foi distinguido com uma Human Frontier Science Program Research Grant 2026 para o projeto <em>\u201cHow snakes lost their limbs\u201d<\/em>. Este financiamento, com dura\u00e7\u00e3o de tr\u00eas anos e in\u00edcio previsto para setembro de 2026, ir\u00e1 explorar os mecanismos gen\u00e9ticos e de desenvolvimento respons\u00e1veis pela perda de membros em cobras e outros vertebrados de corpo alongado. Combinando abordagens gen\u00f3micas e experimentais, o projeto pretende esclarecer uma das quest\u00f5es mais fascinantes da biologia evolutiva.<\/p>\n\n<p>Carmo Fonseca \u00e9 parceira no projeto DECODES, financiado no \u00e2mbito das Doctoral Networks 2025 e coordenado pela Universidad de Santiago de Compostela. O projeto permitir\u00e1 o recrutamento de um estudante de doutoramento no GIMM por um per\u00edodo de tr\u00eas anos, sob a sua supervis\u00e3o, com um financiamento total de 279.445,32\u20ac atribu\u00eddo ao instituto. Este concurso foi altamente competitivo, com apenas 141 programas financiados entre 1.616 candidaturas (taxa de sucesso de 8,7%).
