We’re happy to share that the GIMM Festival 2026 is back and registrations are officially open.

The GIMM Fest is our annual event that embodies the spirit of exploration and innovation at the heart of the Gulbenkian Institute for Molecular Medicine (GIMM). Bridging science and society, the festival creates a dynamic platform for dialogue, discovery, and engagement.

Each year, it focuses on a transformative theme that reflects pressing global challenges, aligning with GIMM’s purpose of advancing science to improve lives.

This year’s theme will explore the role of microbes in shaping health, ecosystems, technology, and society, and we can’t wait to share with you the innovative speakers and case studies we have lined up.

Taking place in Lisbon from September 17-19, GIMM Festival 2026 will bring together the scientific community for three days dedicated to the future of science and health.

We’re also very excited about the speaker lineup, which includes outstanding national and international researchers. The festival will feature two keynote speakers: Yasmine Belkaid, the President of the Institut Pasteur and Charles Rice, Nobel Prize laureate, alongside many other excellent speakers across the program.
