Biobanks are repositories that store biological samples for use in research. They are strategic tools for the development of medicine and translational research.
Their main mission is to contribute to the identification of new diagnostic, prognostic, and disease progression biomarkers, and to the discovery of innovative drugs to treat various human diseases, having a significant impact on science and health.
The richness of a structure like the Biobank depends on the diversity and quality of the biological samples that it stores and makes available to the scientific community.
Give a sample and be a part of our biobank.
Our Biobank holds several sample collections from multiple human diseases (rheumatological diseases, neurological diseases, cardiovascular diseases, and cancer, among others) and from healthy donors, essential for biomedical research.
The donation of blood samples is essential for the success of our endeavors, which counts on everyone’s collaboration, including healthy donors.
To join the Biobank by donating a biological sample, usually blood, you should contact us on the numbers +351 217 999 437 or +351 965 152 588 and arrange a visit to the GIMM Lisbon site.
