Technology Transfer Officer (M/F/D)

The Gulbenkian Institute for Molecular Medicine (GIMM) is seeking a Technology Transfer Officer to strengthen the Funding & Innovation Office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluation of the IP protection, business and market potential of research results;
  • Promotion of GIMM capacities, research results and IP assets to industry and other external organizations;
  • Support in the integration and participation in national and international research and innovation networks;
  • Identification of opportunities to participate in EU and international funding programmes;
  • Support in the preparation of proposals to EU and international funding programmes;
  • Identification, engagement and management of industrial contacts and partnering opportunities, including preparation of non-confidential promotional materials;
  • Support the negotiation and management of technology transfer agreements (e.g., NDAs, MTAs and licensing agreements), in articulation with legal/administrative services;
  • Monitoring and reporting of technology transfer and innovation KPIs (e.g., disclosures, patent filings, licensing.

Candidate Profile

Mandatory Requirements:

  • PhD in Pharmaceutical, Biomedical or Biological Sciences;
  • More than 5 years of experience in biomedical research and/or in the biotech / pharma industry;
  • Relevant experience in research related with the discovery and development of novel drugs and advanced therapies;
  • Basic understanding of technology transfer goals and activities;
  • Excellent command of English, both spoken and written.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in experimental design, especially for studies at discovery and preclinical stage;
  • Relevant experience in preparing and writing grant proposals for research and innovation projects;
  • Basic knowledge of and experience with AI tools.

Analysis of Curriculum Vitae (70%):

  • Scientific background, work experience and other relevant activities (25%);
  • Relevant experience, knowledge and skills for the position (45%)

    Motivation letter (30%):

    • Motivation and interest for the position (20%);
    • Excellent command of English, both spoken and written (10%).
