Two members of GIMM were recognised at the Universidade de Lisboa/Caixa Geral de Depósitos (ULisboa/CGD) Scientific Awards 2026 ceremony, held on 16 June at the Centro de Congressos do Pavilhão de Portugal.

Claus Azzalin, GIMM Group Leader, received the Scientific Award in the area of Biomedical Sciences, and Diana Sousa Cardoso, from Luísa Lopes’ Lab, was honoured with an Honourable Mention in the area of Health (Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Nursing), acknowledging each of their contributions to scientific research.

The ULisboa/CGD Scientific Awards aim to recognise excellence in scientific research and encourage high-quality international publications, through a partnership between the Universidade de Lisboa and Caixa Geral de Depósitos.
