On 8 April, GIMM – Gulbenkian Institute for Molecular Medicine welcomed Kristina Kallas, Minister of Education and Research of Estonia, for an institutional visit to the Oeiras campus.

The visit took place in the context of Minister Kallas’ trip to Portugal to learn about the ongoing reform of the Portuguese Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, and to explore opportunities for the exchange of best practices and bilateral cooperation in science and education.

During her visit, Minister Kallas had the opportunity to tour two research laboratories – those led by Group Leaders Claus Azzalin and Miguel Soares – as well as five of GIMM’s scientific platforms: Bioimaging, Flow Cytometry, Genomics, Proteomics, and Metabolomics. The visit offered a firsthand look at the cutting-edge research infrastructure and scientific expertise.
