GIMM Foundation Charity Golf Tournament and Dinner, in partnership with Penha Longa Resort, raises €27,000 for Breast Cancer Research

On May 9th, Penha Longa Resort hosted the second edition of this special event, bringing together sport, gastronomy, and solidarity in support of the GIMM Foundation’s breast cancer research.

Over 75 players took part in the golf tournament, and around 120 guests attended the charity dinner — a day filled with energy, joy, and generosity. Throughout the event, 15 GIMM volunteers, alongside the dedicated and professional Penha Longa team, ensured everything ran smoothly. The generosity and indispensable support of Penha Longa Resort were absolutely key to the event’s success. Without them, none of this would have been possible!

The dinner was a truly exceptional gastronomic experience, curated by Chef Sergi Arola, who delighted everyone with memorable dishes — a perfect match for the cause we were supporting.

The event also served to highlight the importance of collective commitment in turning scientific research into real hope. Breast cancer continues to challenge us, and the GIMM Foundation is fully dedicated to finding answers, with several research teams working in this area.

One of the most memorable moments of the day was the charity auction, where guests bid on experiences and products generously donated by GIMM and Penha Longa partners, showing an incredible spirit of giving. In total, approximately €27,000 were raised.

This event is an inspiring example of how civil society can be part of the solution to breast cancer — a challenge that affects us all and whose answer lies in science.
