Maria Mota appointed by the Portuguese Government as a Member of the National Council for Science, Technology, and Innovation

We are delighted to announce the appointment of our CEO, Maria Mota, as a member of the National Council for Science, Technology, and Innovation (CNCTI). On November 5, 2024, the Government appointed 20 independent experts who now join this important advisory body, presided over by engineer Carlos Oliveira. The CNCTI works closely with Government officials responsible for the areas of Economy, Science, and Innovation, supporting the creation of informed policies for the scientific and technological development of the country.

Maria Mota’s participation in the CNCTI is a recognition of her work and dedication to scientific advancement. This Council plays a crucial role in promoting science and innovation in Portugal, with responsibilities that include advising the Government on strategic policies and promoting the internationalization of Portuguese science. With contributions from specialists like Maria Mota, the CNCTI will be better equipped to address the challenges of transferring knowledge to society and the economy, reinforcing the role of science in sustainable development and national competitiveness.
