Starting on September 29, 2025, a new call will open for Flagship Projects in clinical and translational research. This is a unique opportunity, within the scope of GIMM CARE, for scientific research teams, led or co-led by physicians, to propose transformative solutions in healthcare.
The GIMM CARE research program seeks to address critical challenges in health—ranging from filling gaps in pediatric and rare diseases to developing new strategies against infectious and immune system diseases.
“Clinical research is essential to provide our patients with the best healthcare—innovative and accessible to all,” emphasizes Cláudia Faria, Director of GIMM Care, researcher, physician at ULS Santa Maria, and Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Lisbon.
In the previous edition, projects led by physician-researchers at Hospital de Santa Maria (ULSSM) and the Faculty of Medicine, University of Lisbon, demonstrated the impact of this initiative, with projects in areas such as personalized diagnosis of rare diseases and sepsis control.
Applications are now open for new ideas. Each selected project may receive up to €200,000 to achieve its goals over a three-year period.
