Metabolomics – GIMM Metabolomics – GIMM

Metabolomics

The Metabolomics Unit will use a range of mass spectrometry technologies to support metabolism research and biomarker analysis. We will use gas and liquid chromatography mass spectrometry approaches to perform both discovery- and hypothesis-driven metabolomics analysis. We also aim to support stable isotope tracing studies and to develop a lipidomics platform to provide insights into lipid metabolism.

Besides providing multiple services for the measurement of metabolites using the latest technologies and methodology, we will assist users in each step of the process – from experimental design for metabolomics, to sample preparation, data analysis and interpretation of results. Our goal is to help researchers answer their metabolism questions and to be able to provide meaningful scientific contributions.

The Metabolomics Unit will be located in Oeiras and we expect to have it running early in 2025. Until then, we are available to provide consultation services in experimental design, data analysis and data interpretation.
